God longs for us to come to Him at our most vulnerable times with our most raw emotions (which many times appear late at night). He makes Himself completely vulnerable for us, so that we know we can reciprocate that to Him. Sometimes we don’t want to go to Him and we feel like we want to handle our thoughts and emotions alone, isolated from God. The rosary gripped in the person’s hand represents perseverance and endurance in coming to God, especially in the moments when we don’t feel like it and it’s a struggle to begin to pray. I think that in these moments, God’s presence is most powerful.
