Description: You may notice that Jesus is crying in this portrait. His facial expression is one of sadness, love, and begging.

When Jesus consecrated the Eucharist for the *first* time at the Last Supper, saying, “Take, eat; this is my body” (Matthew 26:26), it was the moment He sealed His decision to die for us. There was no going back.Through the Eucharist, He gives us all that He is.

Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity.

Because He gave us these gifts for the first time at the Last Supper, He knew that He would have to give Himself completely to us through His crucifixion and death.

His decision to die for us was sealed at this moment.

He knew all those who would reject Him and hate Him after He suffered for us, but at the same time He loves each of us so much that He was willing to take the suffering, rejection, ridicule, and pain so that He could be near to us.

Near us in every moment, near us in the Eucharist, and near us for eternity.

His face is begging us to accept Him because He loves us so much. It shows His knowledge of what will happen to Him, but He chooses that path because He loves us.

Because I Love You
